Testing for drugs at home and the varieties of drug tests available. Sometimes, drugs are a sore subject in most house holds. As you should know drugs are illegal and the upshot for either possessing them or taking them can be extreme. There are lots of forms of drugs, often with many ‘street’ names resulting in them being harder to classify, by non-users, in conversation.

The main types of drug test are urine tests, saliva (or oral) tests and hair tests, each variety gives us different information; a hair test shows usage over months, a urine drugs test shows whether or not drugs are in the system over days and saliva tests show usage within hours.

There are a lot of forms of drug testing kits available; there are single cassette urine tests, which can be used to test for cocaine, to test for cannabis and opiate testing etc. There are drug test cups these test for several varieties of drugs all in one test, there are saliva tests which also tests for many variations of drug. There are also hair drug test which can test for lots of of drugs, however these are rather pricey and they cant be undertaken at home.

What should you do if you think someone you know is likely to be taking drugs?

Primarily it is most fitting to have a sit down with them and speak to them about it, remain cool and make it clear that you are anxious about their health. If the person denies taking drugs but you still have reason to think that they are, suggest that they do a drugs test to prove they are not on drugs. Unfortunately, if they do take drugs they are unlikely to do it unquetionably and unfortunately a lot of tests depend upon the person’s cooperation. In this case it is recommended to get some advice from a doctor or a drugs specialist.
