Cheap holidays to New York: there is a way

Posted by Thinker on Dec 20, 2009 in Thinkable

For cheap holidays to New York do not expect to stay in the Ritz Carlson or the Hilton. You can stay relatively inexpensively in New York City just not like the stars do.

A hostel is more like a dormitory than a hotel. You will have to share a sleeping room, bathroom and lounge area, but the biggest advantages are that you will have a chance to meet people from different parts of the world and it is really cheap.

For $17.00 a night you can stay at the Jazz on the Villa. It is located at 12 W 129th Street. There is a plasma TV in the lounge and a full equipped kitchen you can use while staying there.

For $20 and up a night there is the Continental Hostel on 330 W 95th Street. At this hostel there is a 2500 sq foot lounge area with ping pong tables, foosball and computer kiosks for your needs in reaching the internet and other computing needs along with the entire hostel being covered with Wi-Fi. . There is even an outdoor garden to enjoy while staying here. There is dormitory style bedding rooms along with private rooms to rent. There is ATM and vending machines on site plus arrangement can be made to get you to the airport if necessary.

The Broadway hostel offers a place to crash for $20 and up. They are located at 230 W 101 Street on Broadway. Times Square is just 15 minutes away from this clean and safe place to stay. The rooms accommodate 4, 6, and 8 beds. There are free linens, towels and blankets to guests.

There is not much privacy while staying at a hostel but for cheap holidays to New York the point is to be there and met people.

Facts about Electric Heaters

Posted by Thinker on Dec 20, 2009 in Thinkable

Electric heaters are the most common and popular types of heaters for most people. Ease of use with little to no installation required is one of their strong point. With the abundance supply of electricity, these heaters can be used almost anywhere indoor unlike those that uses fuel. By understanding the various types of electric heaters, you will be able to choose the right one for your home.

Electric Wall Heaters
An electric room heater is one of the more popular choice for a general home user. Electric wall heaters are preferred by most homeowners as they are easy to install and can be used wherever electrical power is available.

Electric wall heaters can heat a single room without heating the entire home and help save you energy and money. They are also inexpensive and considerably easier to install than a gas wall heater and also occupy much lesser room than traditional radiators.

The main disabvantage of using this heater is the expense of running it. Electricity is more expensive than natural gas. If you’re thinking about using wall heaters in more than one room, you’d probably be better off simply turning up your central heating thermostat a couple of degrees. A gas wall heater is a better and cheaper option is that is not an option.

Electric Baseboard Heaters
Baseboard heaters are great for heating bigger rooms.

If you need to heat bigger areas, baseboard heaters traditionally have 500 watts to 1500 watts of power can cover anywhere between 50 to 150 square feet. They often have a circuit breaker to prevent overheating. Maintenance is minimum as there are no moving parts inside the electric baseboard heater. The only maintenance is cleaning off the dust and lint from the grill of the heater.

Garage Heaters~Garage Heaters
For those tough days of working out in the shop or garage, an electric garage heater is the perfect heater. They provide more than sufficient heat for small areas such as residential garages and outbuildings, and their size and portability make them ideally suited for weekend handyman uses.

Some models include safety features that will automatically shut down if they are knocked over or a blanket thrown over them. They also have thermostat controls so you can set the temperature to your liking. These small electric heaters can also be run year round without heat to increase ventilation and provide you with a breeze when it gets hot in your garage.

Organic Gardening and Organic Food

Posted by Thinker on Dec 20, 2009 in Thinkable

The majority of the population of the US today is obese and unhealthy. The food which contain the highest fat content are frequently the cheapest to purchase. So to save money we purchase the high fat foods. Then on top of that, our fat inducing food is tainted with pesticides, antibiotics, hormones and many times deadly bacteria. We tend to purchase our fresh produce and vegetables at local grocery stores, fast food chains or restaurants. The grocery stores and restaurants don’t tell you where your food comes from or how your food was grown and what pesticides and fertilizers were used to grow your food. Your beef may come from Mexico, your grapes from Argentina and your tomatoes from Chile. Even when these foods come from the United States, that is no guarantee that e coli, salmonella, mad cow or some other as of yet unknown disease hasn’t infected them.

What’s the solution? Your very best solution is nutritious, safe and inexpensive food grown in your very own garden. In today’s fast paced life most of us don’t have the time or the energy, and the available land and green thumb to plant our own garden;and then be able to harvest our own delicious, nutritious and the most importantly SAFE for your family foods. As late as 50 years ago, gardening was one of the most important projects for most families. It was for my family when I was growing up on a small farm in central Mississippi. It provided much need food and nutrition at a low cost and our family always knew where our food came from. We also raised our own chickens and eggs, pork, and fresh milk and butter. We knew it was safe food for our family to eat. Today, with our busy schedules, very few families can afford the luxury of tending their very own garden.

SO What Is The Answer? How about free Organic Food… If you could have your own organic Garden full of Organic Produce and Vegetables, have access to thousands of other safe Organic Foods priced as low as you find in the store or even for free, and have them deliverable to your own front door; thenI have to ask… Why are you still driving to the store for a bag of chips and soda? You can have that opportunity. Click here and find my Organic Gardening Opportunity.
