Using artwork to make your home look better.
I have been walking round regional galleries the past month over North Wiltshire, West Wiltshire, Kennet and South Wiltshire and discovered that the many art establishments be they in Chippenham Wiltshire or Malmesbury Wiltshire are filled with some amazing local artists prints and a quantity of brilliant national artists prints. I thought I would provide a break down of some excellent painters who’s work is around at the moment that have created works that are worth having a look at. Art is for everyone and a good print put in the correct space of a room can create a different kind of atmosphere.
The first painter I needed to talk about is the Scottish artist Jack Vettriano who I feel is painting brilliant works of art if you are into film noir. For me when I look at his paintings I feel like I’m looking at some scene from an American detective series or a scene from Miss Marple. Seems a little blasé perhaps but add to that a strong aura of femininity and strength and you will start to get a feel of his paintings. Jack Vettriano’s work can be found in print all over the planet and develops strong tones to a room when you need to add depth and feeling.
The second artist I wanted to talk about was Beryl Cook who moves away from moody tones to uplifting large characters. I think Beryl Cook was one of Britain’s best creaters of British character scenes. Many of us see her characters as big ladies by the seaside, but the diversity of her paintings brings so much humour to normal events of real individuals having a moment. Have a look as I’m sure she will make you smile, her paintings is light and raises the mood of a room.
The 3rd person I wanted to share with you is Philip Gray the Irish artist who produces beautiful moody scenes that are so stunning and awe inspiring that you really sense how it must have been to be looking onto them yourself. His painting is very thought provoking using colours that only nature’s stunning sunsets and dawns can reveal. There is always a feeling of dynamic quiet about his paintings and is really of benefit a look if you like dramatic landscapes. Most rooms will benefit from pieces of this artists work.
The 4th painter I needed to talk about was Duncan Macgregor who makes scenes that reveal his love of the ocean. Many of his paintings have boats sailing through their canvas which for lovers of the sea like myself adds points of attention in very reflective scenes of the ocean. His paintings are often fairly striking using strong colours to show the brightness of the ocean.
These are good artists to look at to give you a wide range of styles that show the massive effect art can have on you or other people as they go into a room. Art I feel should be a thing that allows you to daydream about something else beyond your day to day. It can really help a room with empty walls, adding just the touch you need to show an aspect of self.
