Deciding What Flowers to Send

Posted by Thinker on May 8, 2009 in Thinkable

The tradition of giving flowers has been around forever, literaly. Symbolic use of flowers can be seen in Roman mythology, ancient Chinese writings and even Egyptian heiroglyphs. The tradition exploded in the middle ages as part of the courtship process and continues today. Today, we send flowers for all occasions and have many options from where to get them. A few of the best places are 1-800-Flowers and Internet Florist.

What should you send??? Here’s a quick quide:

Valentines Day – Roses, Roses, Roses! Nothing more needs to be said except mabye Red.

Birthday – Anything Bright and cheerful. The favorite flower of the birthay girl/boy is always a great choice.

Anniversary – Most anything goes here. Try and match the “personality” of the couple to the flowers. A surprise would be ideal.

Wedding - Seasonal flowers! Pastel, light flowers usually work best early in the year while darker, more bold colors work beter in the fall.

Christmas - Poinsettia! For flowers, stick with white and red (or pink) and make sure there is plenty of green in the arangement. Including holly (with red berries) is looks great.

Easter - Lilies, white roses and carnations are best.

Thanksgiving - Lots of browns and oranges. Include roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, daises, marigolds, monte casino, wheat and dried grasses. Also include some fall vegetables; pumpkins, squash…

Mother’s Day – Anything with a lot of fragrance. Lilies, carnations, and scented narissi.

Father’s Day - Something sturdy. Blooming roses or long lasting tropical flowers. It doesn’t need to be a flower, any plant will do.

New Baby – Brightly colored flowers. Something to brighten up the room that is full of life.

Sympath and Funeral – Make sure it is white! Gladiolas, carnatios and daises.

Get Well – Bright flowers. Bright red or yellow with a creative vase is great.

Graduation - Plenty of color. Lilies are an excellent choice, pink, orange and violet would be great.

Housewarming - Something simple. A variety of flowers from the garden in a simple vase would be great.

If flowers don’t fit the occasion, you can always send some goodies from David’s Cookies. In the end, it doesn’t matter what you send, all you need to do is to let the other person know that you are there for them and care about them.

A Good Policy for Keywords Stuffing

Posted by Thinker on May 8, 2009 in Thinkable

Websites found to be using hidden text will almost certainly be permanently removed from the index of all search engines. For this reason we encourage you to refrain from using hidden text on any of your web pages. Websites content should be updated and increased on a regular basis, just like an “organic growth”. Too much pages added in a short period may be a spam indication (same like links). Websites gain SE quality the older they get. So it is OK to have this many owned sites and focus on acquiring 5 BLs per high engine hitter first .

Site owners want their web sites to be eye-catching for site visitors. Assuming you and your competitors all have good content, a distinctive look or a touch of pizzazz is what differentiates one site from another. Sites being promoted via BACT must be sites that promote legitimate products and services and are appropriate for a general audience. Sites that are NOT allowed: BACT reserves the right to reject any site for any reason. Site owners that were social got the traffic, sites that were good were spread by word of mouth. Think about the first time you heard about Google.

Content is perceived to be repetitive or duplicate in nature if more than. The last step is to have relevant and keyword rich content on your website. The search engines like websites with good unique keyword rich content but make sure you are not over stuffing the page with keywords. Content is fresh, due to the ease of posting. And search engines are automatically notified when new content has been added.

Links are what the spiders are following. From page to page they crawl along following links like they are a trail of breadcrumbs. Link farms or free for all (FFA) pages have no other purposes than to list links of unrelated websites. They will not provide you with any traffic and you run the risk of having your site banned for participating. Link to the site map from your home page so that the search engine spider can find all your pages easily.

Search engines have many ways to detect spamming with so called spam filters. They also actively encourage spam reporting by users. Search engines do not just count the number of links; they evaluate the relative importance of inbound and outbound links. That is why link farms do not help you! Search engines look at the relevance of the content. The LSI algorithm is used to decide the relevance of words in content.

Domain name speculation was cute in the 90′s but it is pretty boring now, but people still do it. Twitter’s never put up with name speculation. Domain name length needs to be considered and domains should be easily understood when spoken to command a premium.

Language Lessons – Japanese, German & Italian

Posted by Thinker on May 8, 2009 in Thinkable

One of the most wonderful places that anyone could ever ask to visit is that of italy and as such taking italian lessons is something that you may well consider doing before you travel there. Unlike some of the other languages in the world, we see that Italian is largely only spoken in italy and some of the other smaller islands close to it. There are many things that people can do if they choose to learn to speak Italian such as finding a language exchange partner or even signing up for a night class where they will be able to interact with other people also looking to learn to speak Italian and that; it always a good thing.

Years ago we saw that so many people wanted to learn to speak Japanese as the economy was a thriving one before it began to into a downward spiral. Japanese is know to be one of the most difficult languages that we could ever choose to learn as for most of us we will have to learn a new character set – in effect we will have to learn to read again before we can begin to speak.

If we are looking to take something such as german lessons then we can be sure that it will be easier than when we are looking to learn to speak Japanese or some of the other languages such as Chinese or Russian. Germany is know for its excellence in quality and for its wonderful and prestigious cars and so it is very much the center of business for many industries.
